About Us & Ordering
Q1. Where are you based?
HighVelocityOutlets.com is operated by ship2user, an eCommerce company located at 1525 Point O Woods Road, Mississauga, ON, L5G 2X6, Canada. ship2user is owned and operated by Dave Hammond, Founder & CEO. While our main office is in Canada, all product ships from within the USA, and most customers are located in the USA - hence the site default currency is USD.
Q2. Where does my order ship from?
We ship directly from our brand partners' (manufacturers') locations. Unico, Inc. is located at 1120 Intagliata Drive, Arnold, MO 63010, USA.
Q3. Are you an authorized Unico distributor?
Yes - High Velocity Outlets is an authorized distributor of The Unico System. All equipment and parts sold through our store are genuine Unico products. For technical documentation and engineering specs, use our “Tech Support” chatbox at the bottom of the screen, or visit unicosystem.com
Q4. Do you offer design services?
We provide basic consulting to help identify the right components for your project. For more complex or larger installations, third-party HVAC consultation may be required. Unico also offers full system design services - visit unicosystem.com/design-services for details.
Q5. Can I get a quote for multiple parts before ordering?
Absolutely. Add items to your cart to see the total with shipping, or email us your parts list with quantities and we'll send back a quote. For large equipment orders, email dave@ship2user.com for a formal quote.
Shipping & Delivery
Q6. How much is shipping / freight?
Add the items you're considering to your cart and either proceed through checkout for the freight price, or use the freight estimator on the cart page - just enter your postal or ZIP code.
Q7. How long does delivery take after I purchase?
Most in-stock orders ship within 1–2 business days. Transit time is typically 3–7 business days for ground shipping within North America. Full system orders typically require more lead time per Unico, often 4 weeks for example, although orders may ship earlier. Please refer to our Shipping Policy for full details, and/or Contact Us to discuss your order.
Q8. Do you ship to Canada?
Yes, we ship to Canada. Canadian orders may be subject to import duties and brokerage fees depending on the carrier and shipment value - these are the responsibility of the recipient. Shipping costs and estimated delivery times are calculated at checkout.
Q9. Can I get expedited or overnight shipping?
No, we generally use standard ground shipping.
Q10. Why does shipping sometimes seem expensive on small orders?
Carriers like UPS and FedEx use dimensional weight pricing, meaning even lightweight packages can incur higher fees based on box size. Combining multiple small items into one order is the most cost-effective approach. Please contact us to discuss your order, if freight seems unreasonable.
Returns, Orders & Warranty
Q11. What is your return policy?
We do accept returns, subject to our Return Policy. Generally, unused and unopened items are eligible within 30 days of delivery. Electrical components and special-order items are non-returnable. Contact us with your order number to start a return.
Q12. I ordered the wrong size - can I exchange it?
Yes. Contact us with your order number and we'll arrange an exchange for the correct size. If the item is unopened and in original condition, we'll apply the return credit toward your replacement order. Return shipping costs are the customer's responsibility unless the error was ours.
Q13. I received a duplicate shipment or the wrong item - what do I do?
Contact us right away with your order number and a description of what arrived. We'll arrange pickup of the incorrect item at no cost to you and ship the correct item promptly. Please don't refuse the delivery - contact us first so we can resolve it efficiently.
Q14. Can I cancel or modify my order after placing it?
Orders can typically be modified or cancelled if they haven't shipped yet. Contact us as soon as possible - once an order is loaded to ship or leaves our warehouse it follows the standard return process and cannot be turned around mid-transit.
Q15. Do you offer warranty on equipment?
Yes, as provided by the respective manufacturer. Unico equipment typically carries a 1-year parts warranty, with extended compressor warranties on select models. Keep your purchase receipt and installation documentation. We can assist with warranty claims on equipment purchased through us.
Pricing & Discounts
Q16. Are there any discount codes available?
We don't run regular promotional codes. We do offer a discount for verified veterans - ask us about it when reaching out. For bulk orders, see contractor pricing below.
Q17. Do you offer bulk or contractor pricing?
Yes - for large orders or ongoing trade accounts, contact dave@ship2user.com directly to discuss volume pricing. We work with HVAC contractors and installers regularly and can accommodate project-based quotes.
Stock & Availability
Q18. How do I know if an item is in stock?
Stock status is when possible, is shown on each product page. If it shows "available," we have it on hand or it’s readily available from our respective vendor/manufacturer. For larger quantities, feel free to reach out before ordering and we'll confirm inventory.
Q19. What happens if an item is backordered?
Backordered items will show an estimated availability date on the product page when known. For urgent needs, contact us - we may be able to source from a secondary location or suggest an equivalent alternative. Back-orders do occur, and sometimes without notice, often due to supply chain challenges outside our control. Again, if any delays occur or you have concerns, please contact us.
Q20. Do you carry black or coloured outlet covers?
Standard supply outlets and trim plates come in white. Select wood-finish covers (like the UPC-57-WL walnut) are available in limited finishes. Most outlet covers are paintable ABS plastic and can be colour-matched by your painter or contractor.
System Sizing & Selection
Q21. How do I know what size Unico system I need?
As a general rule of thumb: 1 ton per 500–600 sq ft for average insulated homes. A 1,500 sq ft home typically needs a 2.5 ton system; 2,000 sq ft usually calls for 3–3.5 tons. Climate, ceiling height, insulation, and windows all affect this. For accuracy, a licensed HVAC contractor should perform a Manual J load calculation.
Q22. What's the difference between the 2-inch and 2.5-inch Unico systems?
The 2-inch system uses smaller outlets and tubing - ideal for tight retrofits in older homes with limited wall cavities. The 2.5-inch system moves more air volume and suits larger spaces or new construction. Check your air handler model number to confirm which outlet size your system uses.
Q23. Does the Unico system handle both heating and cooling?
The air handler and duct system are the same for both. Whether you get heating or cooling depends on your connected equipment - a heat pump provides both, or you can pair a separate A/C condenser with a furnace or electric heat coil. We carry electric heat coils and heat pump-compatible air handlers.
Q24. Can the Unico system handle extreme cold climates?
Yes. Unico systems work in cold climates when paired with an appropriate heat pump or furnace. For areas regularly below -10°F, a supplemental heat source alongside the heat pump is recommended. The Unico system handles distribution - your heat source determines cold-weather heating capacity.
Parts Compatibility & Identification
Q25. How do I know if a part is compatible with my existing system?
Start with your air handler model number - usually on a label inside the cabinet door. Unico models follow a pattern like M3036, M2430, SP2430, etc. Share your model number with us and we can confirm compatibility before you order.
Q26. Can I replace an iSeries system with standard Unico components?
In many cases yes - the air handler, coil, and tubing can often be swapped while reusing existing duct runs. However, the iSeries uses some proprietary fittings that differ from standard Unico. Confirm your specific model with us before purchasing replacement parts.
Q27. Are Unico parts still available for older systems?
Yes - we stock parts for a wide range of Unico generations, including older M-series and SP-series units. Some legacy parts may have longer lead times. Search by model or part number on our site, or contact us directly for older or discontinued components.
Q28. How do I find the right motor or blower wheel for my unit?
You need your air handler model number and ideally the existing motor specs (HP, speed, voltage, capacitor rating). The motor itself usually has a spec plate stamped with HP and RPM. Bring those numbers to us and we can match the correct replacement.
Installation & Technical
Q29. Can I install a Unico system myself?
The Unico system is designed to be installer-friendly, and many contractors appreciate how it fits into tight spaces. That said, HVAC installation involves refrigerant handling, electrical work, and load calculations - all of which require licensed trades in most jurisdictions. We supply the components; installation should be completed by a qualified HVAC technician.
Q30. How do I use the winter shut-off plugs?
The UPC-42 (2-inch) and UPC-42-25 (2.5-inch) shut-off plugs push firmly into the supply outlet opening to block airflow to unused zones in winter. They're friction-fit - no tools required. Make sure you have the correct diameter for your outlet size before ordering.
Q31. What do I need to connect slotted trim plates to round 2-inch supply lines?
Slotted outlets use a rectangular face plate with a round barrel that fits into standard 2-inch flex tubing. You need the slotted outlet assembly, 2-inch flex tubing, and couplings to connect tubing runs. No special adapter is required between the round tubing and the slotted plate.
Q32. Is the Unico system noisy?
When properly designed and installed, Unico systems are quieter than conventional forced-air. The insulated flexible tubing absorbs vibration, and the high-velocity design uses aspiration to mix room air gently. Noise is usually caused by oversized systems, too few outlets, or kinked tubing - worth having an HVAC tech review the layout if yours is loud.
